Baku, Thursday 31st July Next up when we get off the boat in Turkmenbashi is the long run through the Turkmenistan desert to the ancient, mysterious and completely wonderful city of Khiva in Uzbekistan. Here's our route. Two days if we get lucky. Three days if we don't.
I'm hoping that's the only bit of the Titatanic narrative that will be emulated. Very much enjoying the travelogue - particularly the write up of Georgia. Mrs V is half Georgian so that may give me a headstart in applying for rulership. What's the job spec? - monarch, autocrat, emperor, benign dictator, despot (happy to apply on any of these counts)
